Autobiographical

9/12/12

My name is Elizabeth Linares. I was born on October 4 in the Dominican Republic. In my country I only lived 4 years and from there I moved here to the Unites States. I was very young by then so I didn’t really know what was going on and why was I getting in an airplane, it was a very life-changing experience for me.  My parents enrolled me in school and from there I started to learn English. Now I can say that I know how to write and speak more English than my native language Spanish.  I went back to my country when I was 12 years old and I can say that didn’t remember anything but it was very surreal. I visited all my family from there and they couldn’t believe how older and different I was.  In school I always got decent grades. I graduated from Elementary School, Middle School, and High School on time and never got left back. It was a struggle but by hard work I did it to make my parents proud. In my family school is the top priority so my parents always expected us to succeed. I am very proud of what I accomplished and I’m very glad I already enrolled and started college. I have always loved and had a huge passion for animals. Since I was young I had always wanted to help them and take care of them. When I started getting older I quickly made up my mind what I wanted to study and it was to make a career of being a Vet Tech. My parents influenced me in a positive way because they knew this was a good profession for me. I can’t say I had hopeless times in my life when I just wanted to give up because I did. But thankfully that never happened.
